Find your strength in nature
A week of workshops on self-empowerment
Permaculture, basket weaving, stone walls, excursions, home-cooked food, good company
In the heart of nature, in our valley ravine, awakened by birdsong and the bells of the goats, surrounded by rugged rocks and prickly pear cacti, where potatoes and vegetables thrive in the fields and where the whistle of a goatherd can be heard from time to time, there you can immerse yourself completely in the life of the Canarian countryside. You can join us and learn alongside us as we go about our daily lives for a week. You can experience being in touch with plants and animals, work up a sweat, create something lasting, and develop an appreciation for yourself and the environment. And rediscover your strength.
The empowerment week includes 30 hours of workshops and 6 home-cooked, organic meals.
Activities include: a botanical walk through the ravine, an introduction to self-sufficient gardening in harmony with nature, a workshop on Canarian mojo sauce, an introduction to horticultural therapy, dry-stone walling, visits to various permaculture projects, basket weaving using Canarian palm fronds, and reforestation and the planting of native trees.

What is the Gomera Rural Life Experience?
It’s an opportunity to experience rural life on La Gomera in an authentic and first-hand way. Gomera Rural Life Experience is an active experience – you are the one who creates, does and experiences something special. I only work with small groups, always responding individually to the participants’ needs. We work with – and not against – nature, and with – and not against – people. We place great importance on mindful communication and the conscious use of resources.
We use our own products and organic produce from the island
We try not to produce any rubbish
We support organic farming and biodiversity
We value traditional craftsmanship and heritage
We cultivate a mindful and appreciative attitude
