Close to nature, authentic, exclusive
La Gomera, with its vast laurel forest, is the green heart of the Canary Islands. There, I live in harmony with the cycle of nature, in a self-sufficient, communal way, in the Canarian tradition. Would you like to immerse yourself in this unique world too? Would you like to find out about local farming and the local flora? Or perhaps try some traditional handicrafts? I can offer you several options.

Find your strength in nature
A week of workshops on self-empowerment.
The basics of permaculture, dry-stone walling, basket weaving and vegetable processing on the beautiful island of La Gomera. A week packed with experiences, learning and physical activity! We’d be happy to arrange your accommodation here too.
Mobile workshops and home visits
I’d be delighted to come to your home to share my knowledge and experiences. The Mojo, Aloe vera and basket-weaving workshops can also be held at other country houses.
I drive an electric car, which I charge using solar panels, so I can travel quickly and in an environmentally friendly way.
Tailor-made excursions
I can also organise a Rural Life Experience Day on La Gomera for you, your family or your work team, depending on what interests you most. A particular type of vegetation or cultivation method? Sweet potatoes or mango trees? Milking goats and making cheese just like in the old days? Baking biscuits in a clay oven? Building drystone walls and terraces? Do you visit permaculture projects?
Always authentic, personal and environmentally friendly.

General Information
Arrival in La Gomera
Most visitors fly from their home country to Tenerife South Airport and then take a ferry from Los Cristianos to San Sebastián de La Gomera. The journey from Tenerife to La Gomera takes about an hour. You can also fly from Tenerife North or Gran Canaria to Playa Santiago Airport. Once on La Gomera, you can hire a car or use public transport.
Weather
La Gomera enjoys a mild climate all year round, with little variation in temperature. The trade winds and the influence of the Atlantic create distinct regional climatic conditions, particularly between coastal areas and higher-altitude areas. In the high, humid areas, this creates ideal conditions for the conservation of the laurisilva forest.
Accommodation
There are several beautiful holiday homes on La Gomera. I’d be delighted to help you choose and make a booking.
Languages
The workshops can be held in German, Spanish, English and Czech.
About me
Hello, I’m Zdenka, a botanist, gardener and horticultural therapist. Here on this beautiful island of La Gomera, I live in harmony with nature’s cycle, grow organic vegetables, plant native trees and teach people how to find strength and vitality through nature.
Our time with Zdenka was very rewarding, and we were richly blessed with knowledge, warmth of heart, light-heartedness and closeness. We recommend this experience to anyone who wants to discover the heart of La Gomera. If we go back to the island, we’ll do it again. Thank you!!!
